Mark Elliott

Mark Elliott brings more than 20 years of experience in senior positions in the public, philanthropic and nonprofit sectors. In his current position, Mr Elliott worked with the National Organization on Disability to develop the Army Wounded Warrior Careers demonstration and currently provides technical assistance to the project’s Career Specialists. He also provides technical assistance to several workforce development organizations to help them improve the effectiveness of their programs and expand across the country. He served as Deputy Budget Director of the City of New York under Mayors Koch and Dinkins; was a program officer at the Ford Foundation responsible for economic development and housing portfolios; and, most recently was executive vice president of Public/Private Ventures where he launched P/PV’s efforts in the workforce development field and managed its communications department. As part of that work, Mr. Elliott led the development and evaluation of several national demonstrations including Bridges to Work, Fathers at Work and the Sectoral Employment Initiative. He also created P/PV’s Working Ventures program that sought to improve the implementation of workforce development programs through accessible guides, reports on effective strategies, workshops and trainings for professionals in the workforce development field. Mr. Elliott is the author or co-author of several publications including Overcoming Roadblocks on the Way to Work, Labor Market Leverage, Gearing Up and Deepening Disparity. He serves on the boards of several social policy and art organizations.
