Infrastructure

The Special Initiative for Rebuilding and Resiliency (SIRR) addressed how to rebuild New York City to be more resilient in the wake of Sandy with a long-term focus. One of the main tasks was to address how to improve citywide infrastructure and building resilience.

SIRR's Citywide Infrastructure and Built Environment Team focused on a system-by-system analysis of how to improve citywide infrastructure and building resilience. This analysis is centered on the following key areas:

  • Coastal Protection
  • Built Environment
  • Insurance
  • Energy
    • Utilities
    • Liquid Fuels
  • Healthcare
  • Telecommunications
  • Transportation
  • Water and Wastewater
  • Solid Waste
  • Food Supply
  • Parks
