If you are covered under a health insurance plan through other than the City of New York employer or through your spouse's health plan, you may waive your City health insurance and receive a cash incentive.
Once enrolled in the Health Benefits Buy-Out Waiver Program, you will receive your cash incentive payments in two taxable installments each year, one in June and the other in December.

Payments for the Health Benefits Buy-Out Waiver Program are included in your taxable wages in Box 1 of your W-2.
