Disability Etiquette and Awareness Training

The Disability Etiquette and Awareness Training covers a brief overview of disability justice, preferred language, and best practices when interacting with people with disabilities. This is followed by more focused overviews based on disability type, e.g. mobility disabilities, Blind/low-vision, Deaf/hard-of-hearing. All of the presenters are employees of NYC Mayor's Office for People with Disabilities and have lived experience as people with disabilities. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions in a safe space with the opportunity for open discussion.
