Tax Breaks for Homeowners: There are property tax breaks available for New Yorkers with disabilities or over age 65! You may be eligible for NYC property tax breaks if you have an annual household income of $58,399 or less. Apply sooner rather than later! This year’s application deadline is March 15th. Learn more about homeowner tax exemptions here.
Rent Freeze for Renters: Eligible New Yorkers with disabilities or over age 62 can stop their rent from increasing with New York City’s Rent Freeze program. If you have an annual household income of $50,000 or less, pay more than 1⁄3 of your income on rent, and live in a rent-regulated apartment, you may qualify for rent freeze. Learn more about Rent Freeze here.
