Executive Order 8 of 2022 formally established the Good Food Purchasing (GFP) initiative, requiring the Mayor’s Office of Food Policy (MOFP) to publish the City's food procurement data to provide transparency about how City agencies' procurements impact core values relating to local economies, environmental sustainability, nutrition, animal welfare, and valued workforce.
The dashboard below shows City food purchasing data and the corresponding GFP value metrics for all participating agencies from fiscal year 2019 through fiscal year 2025. Some City agencies purchase food directly and prepare meals in City-operated kitchens (i.e., ACS, DOC, NYCPS), while all other agencies purchase prepared meals from vendors. The dashboard reflects both the City's direct food purchases and the foods that vendors purchase for prepared meals. Data last updated June 9, 2026.
