Property tax automatic payments frequently asked questions

NYCePay is the only way to register for monthly, quarterly, semiannual, or annual autopay for your property taxes. Please note that NYCePay can only withdraw your payment directly from your bank account. You cannot use a credit or debit card.

You must complete your online registration at least 24 hours before your payment due date for the payment to be withdrawn on time.

We will withdraw monthly payments on the first business day of the month. For all other payments, your payment will be withdrawn on its due date. We will send you an email reminder 10 days before withdrawing the funds. The email will tell you the amount of the payment to be withdrawn.

Your payment amount may change in January and July. Your January and July property tax bills are prorated to account for any changes in your property tax; these changes could be the result of your annual reassessment, changes to the tax rates, or other agency charges.

Autopay will not cover past-due charges. The easiest way to pay past-due charges is at CityPay.

When you register for monthly autopay, the default setting will have all taxes and charges selected. If there are any charges you do not wish to pay using autopay, you can de-select them.

When you register for quarterly, semiannual, or annual autopay, you must select the taxes and charges that you wish to pay.

You cannot enroll in autopay if your taxes are paid by a mortgage servicing company.

There are no fees or charges to enroll in autopay. However, if your payment is rejected by your bank for any reason, you will be charged a $20 fee.
