Your property may qualify for a property tax exemption if your property value changed because you did construction on a multi-family residential building. Benefits vary based on:
The NYC Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) determines your eligibility and approves your application. Finance administers the benefit. Read more about the 421a Legislation Overview and Frequently Asked Questions.
To apply you must first submit an application with HPD. Once you are approved by HPD, you will receive a Certificate of Eligibility. You must then submit Finance’s 421a application along with the Certificate of Eligibility you received from HPD.
The following list of properties did not have a 421a-exemption on their Notice of Property Value. This is because these properties failed to comply with requirements to obtain the Final Certificate of Eligibility from NYC Housing and Preservation Development (HPD). There is still time to take action! Please contact HPD to start the compliance process and obtain an FCE by May 1, 2018 in order to have the exemption reinstated on the July 1, 2018 tax bill
This report shows properties receiving the 421a partial tax exemption listed by Borough, Block & Lot, Neighborhood, Building Class, Tax Class, and Address.
