DYCD is excited to announce 806 new school-based Comprehensive After School System of New York City (COMPASS) programs launching across all five boroughs in fall 2026. This milestone builds on the 121 new programs for community centers announced last month and represents a total of more than 103,000 elementary and middle school seats in all five boroughs.
DYCD is proud to affirm a bold vision for young people, families, and communities across New York City through these Request for Proposals (RFPs). This marks a commitment to ensuring young people have access to safe, welcoming spaces where they can build confidence, discover their talents, and imagine new possibilities, while supporting families and strengthening communities.
These programs advance Mayor Mamdani’s vision for a more equitable, affordable and safe New York City. Through this work, we are strengthening the connection between youth and community development, creating environments where young people are not only supported but empowered to reach their full potential.
Program locations are subject to change. Applications for programs in fall 2026 will be available via discoverDYCD at a later date.
