The New York City Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD) supports reading, writing, GED, and English language classes for youth and adults.

Adolescent Literacy Programs are run by community-based organizations in partnership with 10 middle schools in New York City. The program works with students in grades 6 through 8 to strengthen their reading, writing, and communication skills.

Adult Literacy Programs help adults gain the reading and writing skills they need to further their education or feel more comfortable in the workplace.
