High Blood Pressure Coalition: Take the Pressure Off, NYC!

Take the Pressure Off, NYC! (TPO, NYC!) brings together community-based organizations, faith-based groups, health care systems and other partners to reduce high blood pressure in New Yorkers.

We focus on neighborhoods where people are most affected by high blood pressure and related health conditions.

Our initiatives include:

  • Teaching the community about high blood pressure in our Hypertension 101 workshops.
  • Distributing educational materials and resources to partners across the city.
  • Promoting high-quality hypertension treatment.

To learn how you or your organization can get involved in this work or to join our mailing list, email Bloodpressure@health.nyc.gov.

Hypertension 101 Workshops

The one-hour Hypertension 101 workshop explains:

  • What high blood pressure is
  • How to prevent and control high blood pressure
  • How to monitor your blood pressure at home

You can request a Hypertension 101 event for your community group or organization, or a Train-the-Trainer event for group members or staff to learn to conduct the workshop.
