This notification is to inform the public that, effective January 26, 2026, the Asbestos Control Program: Training and Certification Unit will be no longer be accepting asbestos certification applications submitted via mailed correspondence. This is true for all applications: asbestos handler, restricted handler, handler-supervisor and investigator. Beginning on this date, all application materials must be submitted on the online application portal. Any questions or concerns regarding the portal can be emailed to kramsawak@dep.nyc.gov.
