Local Law 70 of 2025 requires New York City to develop a public dashboard to describe how the city manages stormwater and reduces flooding and to create a comprehensive, citywide stormwater plan.
Progress Reports: DEP will publish progress reports every two years, starting in 2027, detailing updates, new projects, and timelines for achieving stormwater goals.
Stormwater Dashboard: DEP has developed a dashboard to provide New Yorkers with information on projects the agency is planning or managing as part of a comprehensive stormwater plan. This dashboard includes the best information we have today about stormwater projects, green infrastructure, and long-term planning in flood risk areas across the city. Through the interactive map, you can explore ongoing investments and learn how DEP is working to better manage heavy rain and protect communities.
Comprehensive Stormwater Plan: By 2035, DEP will release a citywide stormwater plan, including strategies for public and private property owners to help mitigate flooding-especially in the most vulnerable neighborhoods.
Please note that a project in any identified area may or may not reduce flooding at any specific location in that area and because this work is ongoing, the information on the dashboard may change as new data become available.
