On Tuesday September 14th 2016, the New Millennium Development Services, Inc. in association with Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano and Suffolk County Executive Steven Bellone hosted the 3rd Annual Long Island Community and Economic Development Conference.

Long Island businesses and entrepreneurs participated in workshops and networked with government agencies, corporations and nonprofit organizations. The event also included open sessions with featured speakers and business meet ups for suppliers and buyers.

The main objective was to facilitate networking opportunities for government agencies, major corporations, and small businesses as well as increase minority and woman-owned business enterprise (MWBE) and service-disabled veteran-owned business (SDVOB) contracts. The conference affords opportunities to MWBE, SDVOBS and small businesses with educational workshops and inspiring exhibitors from some of the largest New York State (NYS) government agencies that support the NYS Contract goals of MWBE 30% and SDVOB 6%.

Magalie D. Austin is the Chief Diversity and Industry Relations Officer for the Department of Design and Construction, and currently oversees the Office of Diversity and Industry Relations.
