Gifts to the City is a series of online auctions of select items gifted to previous New York City mayors. This rare opportunity to own a piece of history features items from the City’s Municipal Archives, including art, jewelry, sports memorabilia, and other keepsakes.

Proceeds from the auctions will benefit the Municipal Archives Reference and Research Fund (MARRF). MARRF supports projects to preserve and provide access to historical and contemporary records in the Municipal Archives and Library.

Gifts received by mayors remain the property of the City of New York and are managed by the NYC Department of Records and Information Services (DORIS). The auctions are being conducted by the NYC Department of Citywide Administrative Services (DCAS).

Gifts to the City auctions will occur on a rolling basis, with a first batch of auctions launched in November 2022.
