The Mayor’s Graduate Scholarship Program (MGSP) is an opportunity for full-time New York City government employees, with undergraduate degrees, to pursue advanced degrees at local colleges/universities.

  • The application period is now closed. Please check back in September 2024 for the 2025-2026 application period.

How to Apply


2 Find a participating school and degree program


3 Fill out an application


4 Write a letter of intent


5 Submit to your Agency Personnel Office by due date


6 Submit confirmation to MGSP

  • Submit confirmation to MGSP that the school has received the application

7 Confirm submission with your Personnel Office

  • In early January, confirm your application was submitted to DCAS

8 Contact MGSP if email confirmation not received

  • In late February contact the MGSP office if you have not received email confirmation of your submission
