Affordable Housing to Age in Place: Expanding Access to Senior Citizen Rent Increase Exemption (SCRIE) and Disability Rent Increase Exemption (DRIE) Enrollment

  • Expand access to Senior Citizen Rent Increase Exemption (SCRIE) and Disability Rent Increase Exemption (DRIE) enrollment.
  • Remove barriers to safe and affordable housing so that New Yorkers can age in their homes and communities, , including but not limited to:
    • Implementing new communication processes between Adult Protective Services (APS) and landlords to increase the completion rate of SCRIE packages for APS clients.
  • Commitment to increasing access for eligible households to affordable housing that supports aging in place.
