Public Hearing Format

The Board typically conducts hearings over two consecutive days unless otherwise noted.  The agenda(s) are published at least seven (7) days before the first hearing date.  You can find the next hearing agenda on our Upcoming Hearing Info page

Day 1

Adjournments, Postponements, and Withdrawals.

  • The Board will review all cases that are being adjourned or postponed and will vote as necessary on any withdrawals.

Decisions

  • The Board will vote on each case up for decision in the order of the agenda.

Executive Review Session

  • This session is intended for the Board to discuss each case amongst the Commissioners only, but is held in a public setting for anyone to listen in.
  • All cases are reviewed in order of the day's agenda.
  • There is no public participation permitted during the Executive Review Session.

Public Hearing

  • This session is intended for the applicant to respond to the Board's comments during the Executive Review session, and also for the general public to provide testimony on the cases after they are discussed with the applicant team.
  • Each case will be called again in the order of the day's agenda.
  • First, the applicant team will be sworn in as needed and will provide responses to the Executive Review Session.
  • After the Board and applicant team have completed their discussion, then the case will be opened to the public.  During this time, public testimony will be permitted, including testimony from elected officials, community boards, and members of the general public.

Day 2 (if applicable)
