According to the National Human Trafficking Resource Center (NHTRC), New York is the fourth highest state for reported cases of sexual exploitation and the fifth highest state for reported labor trafficking.
As required by NYC Local Law 23 of 2012, updated to Local Law 41 in 2017, ACS and DYCD are required to submit annual reports documenting data on youth either at-risk or sexually exploited, description of services provided, and document their methods for collecting data regarding this population.
