In the more than 30 years since opening, NCBH has developed a reputation for devotion to the needs of its patients. A community hospital in the truest sense, NCBH has created and maintained programs which are tailored to care for and assist the patients it serves.
Since its earliest days, NCBH has offered strong and innovative programs in women's health services, as well as pediatric primary and specialty ambulatory services. As the particular healthcare needs of its community have evolved, NCBH's services and programs have evolved along with them. Among NCBH's newest renovations are a self-contained Ambulatory Surgery Suite, an inpatient Geriatric Medicine Unit, an inpatient Geriatric Psychiatry Unit, acquisition of one of the largest and quietest MRI units on the market today and acquisition of a new digital mammography unit.
Services have been expanded to offer a host of medical programs tailored to the needs of geriatric patients, a successful Hospitalist program and the Partial Hospitalization program (an alternative approach to services for the mentally ill which provides daily therapeutic intervention while allowing patients to live at home.) NCBH's Sexual Assault Response Team delivers prompt, state-of-the-art forensic and counseling services to sexual assault victims. NCBH was the first NYC hospital to receive a SAFE (Sexual Assault Forensic Examiner) Center of Excellence designation by the NYS Department of Health.
Today, NCBH remains true to its mission: high-quality, compassionate care for any and all in need. With 9,203 admissions, more than 196,000 outpatient visits, 61,000 emergency visits and 1,600 deliveries annually, NCBH is a fixture in the Norwood community: a reliable, familiar and trusted source of medical care for the patients it is proud to serve.
