Deadline Extension For New Shed Proposals

DOB has extended the deadline for design professionals to submit ideas for new pedestrian protection designs in our City.

Published in the City Record last month, our official Request for Proposal (RFP) is seeking ideas from the industry on new designs for sidewalk sheds and alternative pedestrian protection measures. Part of the City's "Get Sheds Down" plan, the new designs that arise from this RFP will help improve New York City's pedestrian experience in the public realm.

We are looking for up to six new designs that are less intrusive and nicer to look at, while still providing adequate overhead protection for New Yorkers. The new deadline to submit a proposal is now Thursday, October 19th, 2023.

Visit the PASSPort Public Portal to access the RFP

New Energy Efficiency Letter Grade Signs

The 2022 calendar year energy efficiency letter grades are available now on the DOB NOW Public Portal. These grades use benchmarking data to provide a snapshot of a building's energy use in a given year, compared to other buildings across the country of similar size and use.

Owners of buildings that appear on the 2023 NYC Benchmarking Covered Building List have until Tuesday, October 31, 2023 to print out their updated Building Energy Efficiency Rating Labels and post them in an visible location near each public entrance to their buildings.
