On December 13, 2021, a new Health Order was announced. The Order requires that private sector workers, including TLC-Licensed Drivers and Operators, be vaccinated against COVID-19.
Beginning December 27, 2021, workers who perform in-person work or interact with the public in the course of business must have proof they have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. Workers will then have 45 days to get their second dose. To schedule a vaccine appointment, visit COVID-19 Vaccine Finder website.
Businesses must verify and keep a record of their employee’s proof of vaccination. Businesses, including garages and bases, can comply with this mandate by following the steps set out by the Department of DOHMH at nyc.gov/vaxtowork.
Please note that reasonable accommodations may be issued for medical or religious reasons. Detailed information on reasonable accommodations is also available at nyc.gov/vaxtowork.
TLC-Licensed Drivers can comply with the Order by keeping their proof of vaccination with them while driving.
Neither TLC-Licensed Drivers nor Passengers are required to provide the other with proof of vaccination.

Masks continue to be required by both TLC-Licensed Drivers and Passengers during transport. If a Passenger refuses to wear a mask, the TLC-Licensed Driver can refuse service without fear of a penalty.
