The Disability Pride Parade began as an event to underscore the importance of the 25th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act and has evolved into a yearly staple of the city's disability community. Originally held in July (the anniversary of the ADA), the parade is now held each October, which is National Disability Employment Awareness Month.
MOPD invites all Mayor’s Office employees, as well as friends and relatives, to march with us behind the MOPD banner on Sunday, October 18. The theme for this year’s parade is “Together We Build!" Come one, come all to show your disability pride and your allyship! Cultivate disability joy and help counter the stigma and ableism that is unfortunately still with us.
The parade is a public event and anyone is welcome to attend. However, if you're affiliated with the Mayor's Office and you’d like to march with MOPD, we ask that you let us know by completing the form below:
