This year marks the tenth anniversary of NYC’s Disability Pride Parade. The parade began as an event to underscore the importance of the 25th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act and has evolved into a yearly staple of the city's disability community. Originally held in July (the anniversary of the ADA), the parade is now held each October, which is National Disability Employment Awareness Month.
March with MOPD in the Parade!
MOPD invites all Mayor’s Office employees, as well as friends and relatives, to march with us behind the MOPD banner on Sunday, October 19! The theme for this year’s parade is “We’re All in This Together” and we are! Come one, come all to show your disability pride and your allyship! Cultivate disability joy and help counter the stigma and ableism that is unfortunately still with us.
The parade is a public event and anyone can show up. However, if you’d like to march with MOPD, we ask that you let us know by completing the form below:

Here are the details:
Parade Schedule – Sunday, October 19
10:00 AM — Line-up at Madison Square Park (arrive on time for section assignments) – exact location of MOPD line-up to be provided to those who register to march with MOPD
10:30 AM — Opening remarks and photos (repeated at 12:10 PM in Union Square Park)
11:00 AM — Parade starts
12:00–3:00 PM — Block Party in Union Square Park: Disability Unite Festival "Pop-up" Performances, community tables, performances, and activities
