23 NYC TV productions received more than 80 total nominations;
winners will be announced in a September 20th ceremony
NEW YORK - The Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment congratulates the NYC productions that were nominated for 2020 Primetime Emmy Awards. In total, 23 local productions were nominated for more than 80 awards this year. The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Saturday Night Live and Last Week Tonight with John Oliver led the way with 20, 15 and 9 nominations, respectively. The 72nd annual Primetime Emmy Award winners will be announced on September 20.
"Congratulations to our Made in NY Primetime Emmy nominees! These nominations affirm our city's rich talent pool, in front of and behind the camera," said Commissioner of the Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment, Anne del Castillo. "These shows are the product of our local TV and film production industry that supports hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers and small businesses and bolsters NYC as a global creative capital."
