NEW YORK, May 20, 2026 – The Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment (MOME) today announced the full slate of programming for the 9th annual New York Music Month (NYMM), the City’s official music festival held every June. NYMM celebrates New York’s vibrant music industry with a curated month of 60+ free events for artists, industry professionals, and fans, presented in collaboration with 60 music industry partners.
The full calendar of free events – which includes 20+ performances featuring emerging and established artists, 40+ talks with expert-led panels, workshops, and masterclasses on key industry issues, and details for the NYMM conference – is available at NYMusicMonth.NYC. The NY Music Month website also includes an Around the City Calendar that allows anyone hosting a music event during June to promote their event for free.
“This year’s New York Music Month marks a new chapter for the city. Under Mayor Mamdani, we’re treating music as a core part of New York’s identity and economy supporting the artists, industry professionals, crews, and spaces that give New York its sound,” said Commissioner Rafael Espinal of the Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment. “With 60+ free events and resources across all five boroughs, we’re opening the door wider, because in New York, music isn’t a luxury, it’s essential.”
NYMM is more than a festival, it’s an investment in one of New York City’s most important creative industries. By creating opportunities for performance, professional development, industry education, and meaningful connection, the City is supporting the full music value chain—not just the artists audiences see on stage or hear through headphones, but the broader network of professionals and businesses that help music careers and companies grow. NYMM serves as both a mirror and a megaphone, reflecting the extraordinary breadth of music activity already happening across the city while amplifying talent, ideas, and conversations that might otherwise go unseen. In a rapidly evolving industry, that kind of public investment helps ensure New York remains a global capital for music creation, innovation, and opportunity.
