Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment Congratulates New York City GRAMMY Winners

NYC artists take home four statues, from a total of 15 nominations

 

NEW YORK, January 28, 2020 — The Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment congratulates New York City winners at the 62nd annual GRAMMY Awards, which took place Sunday night in Los Angeles. NYC artists won four GRAMMY awards from a total of 15 nominations.

"Music's biggest night featured New York City's brightest stars," said NYC Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment Commissioner Anne del Castillo. "The depth, breadth and talent at this year's GRAMMYs — from the host Alicia Keys to award winners including Lady Gaga, Vampire Weekend, and Hadestown, and all the nominees — is a testament to NYC as a global creative capital."

New York City 2020 GRAMMY winners:

  • Lady Gaga - Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media as part of the "A Star is Born" team
  • Lady Gaga — Best Song Written for Visual Media for "I'll Never Love Again" (Film Version), as part of songwriting team of A Star Is Born
  • Vampire Weekend - Best Alternative Music Album — "Father of the Bride"
  • Hadestown - Best Musical Theater Album
