Background Information

The Hurricane Ida Relief Fund has reopened to provide direct cash assistance to undocumented New Yorkers impacted by Hurricane Ida. This State program is accepting applications from now until April 29, 2022.

To qualify, everyone in your household needs to be ineligible for FEMA assistance. You must apply through a trusted community-based organization (CBO), and they will provide the payments directly to you.

  • Assistance can be provided for individuals or households at a maximum of $72,000:
    • $36,000 for Financial Housing Assistance related expenses AND
    • $36,000 for Other Needs Assistance (e.g. funeral, medical dental, child care, moving and storage, critical needs, personal property, transportation, and clean and removal assistance).
