Riverside Center Development Project

Riverside Center is a general, large-scale development project proposed for approximately 8 acres of land located in the southwestern corner of Manhattan’s Upper West Side, proximate to the Hudson River, and bounded by West 61st Street, West 59th Street, West End Avenue, and Riverside Boulevard.

The documents after the jump reflect the research, analysis, hearings, discussions and recommendations of Community Board 7/Manhattan regarding the Riverside Center development project proposed by the Extell Development Company, as certified by the NYC Department of City Planning on May 24, 2010.

Fordham University Lincoln Center Campus, Master Plan Expansion

Fordham University "Master Plan" for the development of the Lincoln Center Campus is intended to be implemented in two phases occurring over the next twenty-five years and consisting of up to seven new academic buildings, two residential buildings, two garages and a loading dock.

CB7's Land Use Committee, with critical input from Fordham area residents, UWS organizations, and with negotiations between elected officials and Fordham, made recommendations to the Master Plan that resulted in the final CPC Restrictive Declaration.

Single Room Occupancy Dwellings

CB7 has the highest numbers of Single Room Occupancy dwellings in the City. A report by Alan Biller for the Manhattan Borough President and CB7, researches the current inventory levels (as of 2010), classifications, uses, and recommendations.

Since this report, a bill was passed making it illegal to rent a unit for less than 30 days in buildings that are Class-A Multiple Dwellings.
