Support the Food Provider Network

The City is urging philanthropic partners to support the food provider network to ensure no New Yorker goes hungry.

Due to a pause in federal SNAP benefits affecting 1.8 million New Yorkers, including 540,000 children and 540,000 older adults, New York City has activated an emergency food response led by the Department of Social Services (DSS), the Human Resources Administration (HRA), and the Mayor's Office of Food Policy (MOFP). The City is providing $15 million in emergency funding through the Community Food Connection (CFC) program, which supports more than 700 community-based food organizations across the five boroughs.

To ensure that every neighborhood has access to nutritious food, the Mayor's Fund to Advance New York City is partnering with a network of trusted nonprofit organizations:

... and encouraging continued support for smaller, community-based partners with strong local reach. Together, government, philanthropy, and community organizations are working to ensure that all New Yorkers have consistent access to healthy food and essential resources during this time.

Thank you.
