The Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP), funded by the NYC Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD), is the nation’s oldest and largest youth employment program. It connects NYC young people between the ages of 14 and 24 with career exploration opportunities and paid work experience for six weeks during July and August.
You can now Experience SYEP:
The SYEP experience allows you to explore your interests and career options; develop workplace, social and leadership skills; and build up your résumé—all while getting paid!
To be considered for SYEP, you must 1) permanently reside in New York City; 2) be at least 14 years old and no older than 24; 3) be legally allowed to work in New York City; and 4) meet the requirements of the document checklist, which can be found at the application site (https://application.nycsyep.com/). There are additional age, educational and work history requirements for NYC Ladders for Leaders.
Visit https://application.nycsyep.com/. You can also get an application from a community-based SYEP provider, and complete and return it. Look for information on the 2023 SYEP applications early in 2023.
