DYCD Summer Safety

As part of Mayor Eric Adams’ comprehensive, multi-agency plan to provide New Yorkers a safe and healthy summer, the New York City Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD) is expanding hours at select programs during the summer of 2025. Under the Summer Safety initiative, select program locations are open seven days a week until 11:00 PM, including:

• Beacon Community Centers: Select centers are open weekdays from 6:00 PM – 11:00 PM, and weekends from 12:00 PM – 11:00 PM.
• Cornerstone Community Centers: Select locations have extended hours from 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM on weekends, in addition to normal operating hours from 6pm until 11pm, seven days a week.
• Saturday Night Lights: In addition to Saturday hours, select locations will operate on Sundays from 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM.

To locate a program near you, visit discoverDYCD. Click “Search Programs” next to the discoverDYCD logo on the home page. Then, in the “Program Search” box, type the program you are interested in (Beacon, Cornerstone, Saturday Night Lights) and enter “Location” information (Zip Code, Borough, etc.). Contact the provider of the program for information on their offerings and operating hours.

You can find Beacon, Cornerstone, and Saturday Nights Lights programs throughout the city; extended Summer Safety hours are offered in the following communities:
