September 15, 2021 — The Health Department is investigating a cluster of COVID-19 cases linked to the Electric Zoo music festival over Labor Day weekend. Sixteen people have been identified so far as part of the cluster.

“The Health Department is leading this investigation, but New Yorkers have a vital role to play,” said Health Commissioner Dr. Dave A. Chokshi. “Anyone who attended this festival should get tested immediately, regardless of whether or not they have been vaccinated. This is especially urgent if attendees are experiencing symptoms.”

In addition to the 16 individuals, eight people have been identified so far who -- though likely exposed prior to attending the concert -- were in attendance while potentially contagious and could have exposed others.

New Yorkers can find their testing location at nyc.gov/covidtest. Those that attended the festival but reside outside NYC should visit their local health department’s website to find testing options near them.

The Health Department’s investigation is multi-jurisdictional, and the agency will be issuing an alert to other state and local health departments to help identify cases who are residents of other jurisdictions.
