Asbestos Control Program Training Certification Unit Examination Suspension, December 2021

Due to concerns with public assembly related to the COVID-19 (Coronavirus), the Asbestos Control Program (ACP), Training and Certification Unit has suspended all certification examinations (Asbestos Handler, Handler Supervisor and Asbestos Investigator) until further notice. Listed below are the Training and Certification Units directives:

  • All scheduled applicants have been notified of the cancellations via phone call and USPS mail. When ACP resumes certification examinations, applicants will be contacted via USPS mail and an announcement will be made on the DEP website.
  • Initial and Renewal certifications applications will continue to be processed. Once examinations resume, you will be scheduled in the order the application was processed.
  • The ACP 8th floor Front Desk is CLOSED. All correspondence will be done via USPS mail, phone call, or email. All applications should be mailed in to the office via USPS mail (this includes “duplicate” applications for lost/stolen certificates).
  • Due to the closure of the front desk, the issuance of temporary licenses are suspended until further notice.
