Sonia Putzel

Sonia serves as Technology Strategist on the NYC Civic Engagement Commission's Digital Equity Team, where she helps create CEC's online participatory spaces and research and prototype digital tools for civic engagement. In this role, she focuses on making CEC's digital programs more equitable, with attention to accessibility, process fairness, and the impact of emerging technologies. Before joining CEC, she worked as a web developer and volunteered as a technologist for voter protection and ballot rescue programs. She has been with the CEC for just over a year and lives in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn.
