Richard Mazur, Polish

Richard Mazur has been a community leader and activist for over 40 years and is active in many local causes and organizations in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. He is currently the Executive Director of the North Brooklyn Development Corp., a not-for-profit neighborhood preservation company that he helped found in 1979. He is a board member of the Polish National Home/Warsaw in Greenpoint, and the Pulaski Association of Business and Professional Men and serves on the board of several community organization. Mazur is passionate about preserving Polish language and traditions, including folk dance, among the Polish community and beyond.  He has organized voter registration drives, co-founded Mobilization Against Displacement (MAD) defending at risk tenants from displacement, and runs after school programs in local public schools.
