NYC Human Rights Summit 2025

New York City Human Rights Summit - Protecting New Yorkers' Rights

About the Summit

On October 30, 2025, the NYC Commission on Human Rights held its third annual Human Rights Summit, a day of dialogue, learning, and community dedicated to advancing equity and protecting human rights in New York City.

Throughout the Summit, attendees explored how civil rights education is being reimagined through new and updated trainings and legal guidance, gained insights into the enforcement process and remedies available under the law, and learned about grassroots strategies to combat hate and bias through microgrants funded in partnership with the NYC Office for the Prevention of Hate Crimes. The day also featured a performance by Public Artist in Residence Caitlyn McCain, whose work rooted in theater of the oppressed demonstrates the power of art as advocacy and a catalyst for change.

The Summit closed with reflections and a discussion on lessons learned, challenges ahead, and a shared call to action to uphold dignity, justice, and inclusion for all New Yorkers.
