Jeannette Wilson has enjoyed an interesting and varied background as an educator, counselor, advocate, manager, recruiter, writer, designer and entrepreneur, including twenty-five years in the social service industry and fifteen years in financial services.
A native New Yorker, she found and fell in love with Brady Court and has made the Bronx her home since 1994. She has served on the Brady Court Board of Directors since 2013. She strongly believes in transparency, inclusion, equity, productivity, growth and community. As Board President, she strives to keep Brady Court strong, safe, solvent, informed and prosperous. She was instrumental in having a Community Center built on the property at the corner of Holland Avenue and Antin Place to serve residents of Brady Court and the larger community. During the pandemic, she was the lead in partnering with individuals and organizations to bring much needed food, PPE and services to Brady Court and the community.
Jeannette also serves as Board Chair on Bronx Neighborhood Advisory Board 11. NAB members are responsible for helping identify the needs of their local communities and helping DYCD identify funding priorities here in our community. She is very active in partnering with neighborhood organizations to support the best interests of our district. She is a caring, patient, reasonable, hands-on, effective leader with a strong commitment to being of service to her community.
Jeannette was appointed to Community Board 11 in 2022 as a Council Member Velazquez nominee.
