In partnership with the City University of New York School of Professional Studies, ACS is the process of building a new ACS Workforce Institute. The Workforce Institute will draw on expertise from universities and practitioners in the field to provide high quality and effective learning and professional development opportunities.
Through our partnerships with the Council of Family and Child Caring Agencies (COFCCA), the New York State Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS), the New York State Social Work Education Consortium (NYSSWEC), universities and Provider Agency networks, we will offer learning programs that rely on best practices. The Institute will also use the most effective learning strategies, methods and technologies available to maximize participant learning.

Learning does not end when you leave the classroom, or complete an online program. Learning and professional development are ongoing activities and coaching and supervision are key components of this.
As part of the new ACS Workforce Institute, we are developing and implementing standardized supervision protocols and coaching programs both within ACS and our provider network. Coaching is a best practice in adult learning and is proven to assist professionals with learning new skills faster, more efficiently and effectively.
