Promoting a Safe and Respectful Environment for LGBTQIA+ Youth and Families

The Division of Policy, Planning, and Measurement at the Administration for Children's Services (ACS) is pleased to announce the release of the DRAFT policy titled “Promoting a Safe and Respectful Environment for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer/Questioning, Intersex, Asexual/Agender (LGBTQIA+) Youth and Families Involved in the Child Welfare, Detention, and Juvenile Justice Systems.”
This policy provides guidelines to both ACS and provider agency staff on sensitive, respectful, and culturally competent practice, as well as strategies to address bias and meet the unique needs of youth and their families.
