Office of Information Privacy

OTI’s Office of Information Privacy (OIP), headed by the Chief Privacy Officer (CPO) of the City of New York, advises the Mayor, Chief Technology Officer and other senior City officials, and City agencies on privacy protection in administration priorities, data sharing initiatives, and emerging policy areas, as well as response to suspected and known incidents impacting information privacy. OIP also implements the City's Identifying Information Law and provides guidance to a network of Agency Privacy Officers throughout the City on the lawful and responsible handling of identifying information and privacy protection.
