As part of an initiative to save lives by increasing the early detection of colon cancers, the Gastroenterology Clinic offers free colon cancer screenings. Free colonoscopies are available to eligible uninsured patients.

Chronic Care Collaborative:
The Department of Medicine is committed to creating and implementing effective chronic disease management strategies in partnership with our patients to fight diabetes, asthma, depression, and other serious chronic diseases. Our Diabetic Center of Excellence emphasizes not only treatment but also prevention and early detection. To provide more effective care to diabetics, we use a computerized monitoring tool known as an electronic disease registry to track care.
