In many circumstances, helping ventilator-dependent patients regain the ability to breathe on their own is the ultimate goal. The process is called weaning. We are nationally recognized for pulmonary care, with decades of experience in ventilator weaning. Standards for success at ventilator weaning vary widely. We measure success against some of the strictest standards found within this area of expertise. We are proud of our skill at helping patients become ventilator-free, and have successfully weaned many patients who were considered "unweanable" at other facilities.
