Arthur Avenue Weekend Walks

Arthur Avenue from E. 187th Street to Crescent Avenue

The Real Little Italy in the Bronx will be drawing visitors from the tri-state area and beyond to the intersection of all-things-Italian at world famous Arthur Avenue and East 187th Street as the Belmont Business Improvement District hosts several special events. Come get a taste of the authentic Italian culture in the vibrant community of Belmont, sustained by a thriving business district that includes world-class restaurants, high quality artisanal food shops and specialty stores carrying superb handmade local and imported items. Special events include Bronx Little Italy’s First Car Show, an Art Show, a Health Event and Bronx Little Italy Heritage Day, which will honor the businesses that have been in the neighborhood for over 50 years and will also include a cannoli tasting contest!

The Summer Walk always attracts many community residents and families, local and city agencies, including businesses.  With the help of the Health Community, local community, faith and businesses leaders, we will be transforming health education, awareness and promotion by integrating healthy campaigns from our local health insurance programs, hospitals, local government and business communities.

Boogie on the Boulevard

Grand Concourse between 165th Street and 167th Street

Boogie on the Boulevard 2015 will be reallocating the center lanes of the historic Grand Concourse from 161st Street to 167th Street for vibrant cultural, health, and active programming for three consecutive pedestrian Sundays: August 2, 9 and 16 from 12PM to 4PM. Seven blocks of the South Bronx’s main thoroughfare will be closed to cars and open to a world of fun, with free music, activities and programs hosted by art/cultural, civic, health organizations and artists.

Williamsburg Walks

Williamsburg Walks is back this June for an entire weekend devoted to art, community and interaction. Williamsburg Walks takes over Bedford Ave (Metropolitan Ave - N.12th St) Saturday June 13th and Sunday June 14th from 1-6pm each day, rain or shine. The street will be free of traffic and repurposed as an art filled pedestrian plaza with help from various local organizations such as Triskelion Arts, 11th Street Workshop and Project Art. The community will enjoy pop-up parks, live painting exhibitions, live music, performance art and various interactive activities as well as expanded cafe seating from restaurants and bars along Bedford.

Celebrate summer’s first Saturdays on June 20th and 27th at Grand Street’s Block Parties on Grand Street between Leonard Street and Graham Avenue in East Williamsburg (L train to Graham or Grand Street). From 2 to 8 pm the Grand Street Business Improvement District will be hosting FREE outdoor activities for all ages including, live music, games, food and lots of fun!  Arcade games, ping pong, face/henna painting, and other surprises await! Grand St. between Lorimer and Leonard on June 20 and Leonard to Manhattan on June 27.

Bay Ridge’s Third Avenue Summer Stroll encourages our neighbors to come and experience enhanced cultural exhibitions, performances, music,   vintage retailers and our world famous array of restaurants. The evening brings you back to a time when the streets were quiet and you could enjoy your neighborhood, stroll with your family and friends without all of the outside noisy interruptions. July 17 & 24 from 80th to 90th Street and August 7 & 14 from 69th to 80th Streets.

Presented in the heart of Bedford Stuyvesant, Brooklyn, the Tompkins Avenue Merchants Association (TAMA) Summerfest is a keystone event which aims to support and promote the assets of the local community. The corridor will become an active, pedestrian-friendly public space for dance, music, food, arts, games, clothing drive, yoga, children’s book reading, poetry, fashion shows, prizes & much more. With a community heavily influenced by music, this year’s event will feature talented jazz, DJ’s and hip hop artists residing in Brooklyn and beyond.

Weekend Walks Community Street Fair

The Brooklyn Chamber in partnership with the Jewish Community Council of Borough Park holds its second Weekend Walk-Safety Day. The goal of this initiative/program is to provide the community with an educational and yet fun experience in safety. It will also serve as an opportunity to give a boost to the local economy, while also encouraging tourists and Brooklynites to explore the Hassidic community of Borough Park.

Southside Connex

Southside Connex is an annual two-day community street festival in Los Sures (Southside of Williamsburg) co-produced by El Puente Green Light District (GLD) and the Southside Merchants with support from the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce. On September 19 and 26, 2015, Havemeyer Street from South 4th Street to Grand Street will be closed to vehicle traffic and filled with cultural activities, health and wellness workshops, environmental justice information and resources, and El Puente’s fourth annual ¡WEPA! Festival for Southside Performing Arts featuring local and international performing artists. Southside Connex creates a unique opportunity for local residents to interact, learn, share and celebrate together in the streets of Los Sures.

Chinatown Partnership and Chinatown BID hosts for the very first time as part of its 3rd annual Weekend Walks, the Annual Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Festival! Celebrating its 36th year, the Heritage Festival showcases Asian American and Pacific Islander identity and culture. Featuring all-day stage performances, and info booths by 40+ Asian American organizations from areas including education, social services, activism, arts and entertainment. On July 26th, celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) with various all-day activities. Weekend Walks in Chinatown welcomes you to explore NYC's premiere historic neighborhood, together, for everyone.
