Elevator Filing Fees & Civil Penalties

On September 13, 2010, new elevator filing fees and civil penalties become effective.

Applicants will also be able to use the new Elevator Batch Intake (EBI1) Form to process five or more Category 1, 3, 5 or Affirmation of Correction Reports.

New TR2 & TR3 Filing Fees

New filing fees for the TR2 and TR3 forms become effective September 20, 2010. The fee is $130 per form per submission.

Applicants must pay a combined fee of $390 (includes fees for both forms and the three required submissions) prior to permit issuance. For fee deferred jobs, payment will be required prior to sign-off.

Buildings Bulletins

Grease Ducts and Exhaust Equipment Materials
Buildings Bulletin 2010-21 establishes acceptance criteria for welded code-prescribed ducts with field applied fire-rated insulation and factory manufactured commercial grease ducts with field applied fire-rated insulation.

Fuel-gas Fired Ceramic Kilns
Buildings Bulletin 2010-022 establishes standards for fuel-gas fired ceramic kilns used for hobby and non-commercial purposes.

Quick Disconnect Devices Used to Supply Natural Gas
Buildings Bulletin 2010-023 establishes acceptance criteria for quick disconnect devices used to supply natural gas.

Service Updates

Energy Code Progress Inspections
Applications filed on or after

September 7, 2010 must identify required Energy Code Compliance Progress Inspections.

B-SCAN Designators
The Department has added "FP" as a new discipline
designator, which includes sprinkler and standpipe work. Designators "F" and "Z" have also been clarified.

ELV3 and ELV3A Form
The Department has updated the ELV3 and ELV3A forms.
The updated versions of the forms are now available and must be used beginning August 30, 2010.
