Visiting Hours

Patients have the right to designate any visitors, including a spouse, domestic partner, a same sex domestic partner, another family member or a friend. This hospital does not restrict, limit or otherwise deny visitation privileges based on race, color, national origin, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation or disability. Patients may withdraw or deny consent to visitation to anyone at any time.

Family/significant others are defined by the patient and are the individuals who may provide the primary physical, psychological and or emotional support for the patient and may not be biologically or legally related to the patient.

Visitors are guests of the patient.

Children are those twleve years old and under.

EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT

Adult
Visiting time is from the quarter of the hour to the top of the hour (e.g. 8:45 am to 9:00 am.)

Children may visit at the discretion of the Charge Nurse.

Behavioral Health Emergency Department
Visiting hours are from 1:30 to 2:30 pm and 5:30 to 8:00 pm.

Children are not permitted to visit.

MEDICINE/SURGERY UNITS

Visiting hours are from 09:30am to 9:30pm on all units.

Two visitors at a time are allowed at the bedside. Children accompanied by a responsible adult may visit during regular visiting hours, unless the patient is on isolation.

INTENSIVE CARE

Adult
The Visitor’s lounge near the ICU is open for visitors from 9:30am to 9:30pm.

Only 2 visitors at a time are allowed at the bedside. Visitation is restricted to family as defined by the patient, for the first 15 minutes of each hour.

Visiting is not permitted during the change of tour, from 7:00 – 7:30, am and pm.

Children 12 years and under are not permitted to visit. Nursing discretion based on extenuating circumstances could alter these guidelines.

Neonatal ICU (NICU)
Parents (24 hours) and Grandparents (11 am to 7 pm) may visit in the NICU.

Siblings and other family members' visitation can be arranged with the Charge Nurse and may occur during regular visiting hours. Discharged breast feeding mothers may return for infant feeding 24 hours per day.

Pediatric Units/Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)
Visiting hours are from 9:30am to 9:30pm.

Only two visitors at a time are allowed at the bedside. Parents/guardians may visit at any time. Only one parent may stay with the child overnight. Only parent/guardian are permitted to visit children on isolation precaution. Siblings may visit when accompanied by an adult during normal visiting hours. Children accompanied by a responsible adult may visit during regular visiting hours unless the patient is on isolation. The length of the parents' visits and overnight stay are left to the discretion of the Charge Nurse.

LABOR & DELIVERY AND LABOR AND DELIVERY RECOVERY ROOM

Partner/coach may stay in the waiting room during early labor, assist the patient in ambulation accompany and coach and giving supportive care during labor. Partner/coach may visit the mother in the Recovery Room for short visits. Visiting is restricted during emergent situations.

ANTEPARTUM / POST PARTUM / NEWBORN NURSERY

Visiting hours are from 9:30 am to 9:30pm.

The significant other identified by the patient can visit at any time. Siblings accompanied by an adult may visit during regular visiting hours. Children accompanied by a responsible adult may visit, unless the patient is on isolation. Discharged breast feeding mothers may return for infant feeding anytime 24 hours per day. Visiting is restricted for persons who are feeling sick or have signs of communicable illness infections or have recently been exposed to a communicable disease.

PSYCHIATRIC UNITS

Adult and Forensic Services
Visiting hours are from 1 to 2:30 pm and 5:30 to 8 pm.

Children are not permitted to visit.

Behavioral Health Child and Adolescent Services
Visiting for Child Services are Monday–Friday, 13:30pm to 4:30pm and for Adolescent Services Monday–Friday 3:45pm to 4:45pm, and 5:30 to 7:00pm
Weekends and School Holidays: 1:30pm to 2:30pm and 5:30pm to 7:00pm
Alternative times may be arranged with the inpatient treatment team.

Children are not permitted to visit.

HOSPICE

Hospice visiting is unrestricted for all age groups.
