  • 63 women-led projects received total of $1.5M in grants in 1st round of #NYCWomensFund
  • 6+ projects will premiere in early 2020

"Made in NY" Production Assistant Training Program

  • 67 New Yorkers graduated in 2019
  • Total number of graduates since start is 850+
  • 58th cycle of the program starts in February

 

 

NYC Public School Film Festival

  • 63 films submitted from middle & high schools in 5 categories - 28 short feature/narrative; 18 PSA/Advocacy; 17 Documentary; 7 Animation; 6 Experimental
  • 21 films screened before panel
  • Career Expo featuring companies like Blue Sky Studios and colleges like NYU, CUNY

 

Broadway in the Boros

 

Broadway in the Boros

  • Featured free performances from Hadestown, Beetlejuice, Mean Girls, Chicago, Be More Chill, The Prom, Beautiful: The Carole King Musical and Wicked
  • 4,000+ fans in attendance at events in Bed-Stuy, Empire Outlets, Jackson Heights and Coop City this summer

  • 57 graduates with skills in editing and effects
  • 38 got full-time jobs in on NYC film/TV productions
  • Hired by HBO, CBS, SIM International, PictureFarm, Universal Studios, Harbor Picture Company, Technicolor Postworks, Ang Lee’s “Gemini Man,” Disney’s “Mary Poppins Returns”

  • 10,500 free 3D animation training hours classes given
  • 2,204 students in 3D computer animation courses

  • 2,200+ people attended 9 free concerts in Bronx & Queens
  • 1970 hours of free rehearsal space (13% increase from 2018) was used by 340 artists (20% increase from 2018)
  • 335+ applicants, 36 selected in 24-hour Songathon songwriting competition

  • 1.3M New Yorkers worked freelance in past 12 months
  • $31.4 billion earned from freelance work every year
  • 61% of media/entertainment employees worked freelance in past 12 months
