Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment Offers Two New "Made in NY" Fall Talks Online


NEW YORK - The Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment (MOME) announced two new events in the series of exciting, new "Made in NY" Talks for Fall 2020, offered online. They are "Media Literacy: How to Spot Fake News" on Tuesday, October 20, and "WFH: Careers in Animation" on Monday, October 26. All talks will be recorded and available to view online in the future at https://www1.nyc.gov/site/mome/news/made-in-ny-talks.page.

The "Made in NY" Talks series brings together industry leaders to share insight, information and news with New Yorkers looking to work in media and entertainment. Presented in partnership with the Center for Communication, the series provides New Yorkers with the background they need to pursue careers in media and entertainment.

Media Literacy: How To Spot Fake News

What is your news literacy? More than ever, Americans are receiving their news from social media and are sharing false information at an alarming rate. This dangerous trend is taking place against the backdrop of a pandemic and an election year.
