The Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment proudly congratulates our "Made in NY" Primetime Emmy Award Winners

Local television productions take home 33 statues at the 71st Primetime Emmy Awards

 

NEW YORK – The NYC Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment proudly congratulates the "Made in NY" winners at the 71st Primetime and Creative Emmy Awards, which took place last weekend, and Sunday night in Los Angeles. In total, 11 New York City productions took home 33 Emmys; 26 productions were nominated for more than 130 awards.

Among this year's "Made in NY" winners were Saturday Night Live, Succession, and Last Week Tonight with John Oliver. Billy Porter won Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama, for his role as Pray Tell in Pose, Michelle Williams won Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series or Movie for her role as Gwen Verdon in Fosse/Verdon, and Jharrel Jerome won Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited Series or Movie for his role as Korey Wise in When They See Us. The Outstanding Supporting Actress and Actor in a Comedy Series were taken by The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, with Alex Borstein and Tony Shalhoub winning respectively.

"The number of awards and nominations for our 'Made in NY' productions signals that New York City is indeed a TV town rich in talent and creativity," said NYC Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment Commissioner, Anne del Castillo. "We're so proud of all the nominees and winners, the more than 130,000 New Yorkers who work in the industry, and the collective efforts of local businesses, communities, and city officials, among others to make New York City the best place in the world to produce television and film."
