Press Release

Statement from Commissioner Bitta Mostofi on Second Circuit Court's Decision on the 'Public Charge' Rule

For Immediate Release: September 14, 2020
Contact: mediabox@moia.nyc.gov, 212-676-3013

The Second Circuit's decision is disappointing and does not address the gravity of the crisis we are in nor the impact this unlawful rule has on chilling health access. We will not stop our fight in the courts to strike the rule down once and for all. In the meantime, to our immigrant communities: seek care without fear. Call ActionNYC at 800-354-0365 to ask any questions about public charge and immigration.
